About Rebel Mountain Forge
Welder and artist blacksmith Andreas Hornsteiner grew up in Mittenwald, Germany in the Bavarian mountains.
My father Eduard Hornsteiner was a master blacksmith with his own shop in Mittenwald. As a young boy at the age of 10 years I was already geting introduced in the art of forging on a 552 pound anvil. When I was 15 my dad said to me the best trade to learn is to be a Schlosser witch is welding artist blacksmithing, pretty much everything to do with the steel trade.
So I fell into my dads footsteps and got my Gesellenbrief deploma in 1988. In 1991 at the age of 21 I came to America and fell in love with it. I started out having a concrete pumping business in Florida, which I continued for a short time in Eureka, Montana. Now I finely decided to again fall into my fathers footsteps and carry his art of smithing on (unfortunately my dad passed in 1992).
Right now I work in a little 400 squere foot shop nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills in Trego, Montana. My blacksmith shop is off the grid and all my artwork is forged in a coal fire with Burmingham, Alabama coal. I can pretty much forge anything possible out of steel and I am also a heavy equipment welder and steel fabricator. In short I can do anything in the metal trade.
I am looking forward to the forging again and hopfully my webpage will interest you. Please feel free to contact me if you have a custom order or an idea. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely Andreas Hornsteiner
